So apparently having poop on your shoe is the new thing. Don't believe me just ask INSA, an artist who has created a pair of ten inch stilettos with a platform produced from pacaderm poops. Created as a response to Chris Ofili's painting of the Virgin Mary which had the same kind of elephant dung on it that we now see in these shoes. Artistically pretty cool I think. I love the use of art and fashion in one but lets be honest, I'm hoping these don't make it to the stores.

Commuting
Welcome back from Spring Break everyone, I hope it was epic for all of you. I interned in Manhattan for the entirety, giving up sleep, sun, beach and coffee dates for three hour door-to-door commutes from Eastern Long Island to the Upper East Side of NYC and for very entertaining auction estimate requests, but that is besides the point of this post.
The first day I woke up at 5:40, did my make up on the train, and as I looked up from my double-c logo press powder mirror, I saw this:
He reminded me so much of Mr. Schuman's aesthetic, what a breath of fresh air, I took an immediate liking to his sophisticated yet effortless style. He wasn't adorned with labels, but you could tell that everything was of great quality. The book he was reading looked old; it paired nicely with the brown/dark purple briefcase that also shows wear along the edges. I'm pretty sure he pulled out the book after I made him uncomfortable by staring at him!
Many of us avoid pairing khaki and grey, or khaki and black...but I like how gracefully these rules can be amended.

Date Party!
I love this Rodarte for Target leopard print dress. While it was a risk, it ended up being really comfortable and fun. This dress proves that risks are often worth it!

a vision of grace
This woman, Queen Rania of Jordan, is my style, as well as personal, inspiration. Nothing is more fashionable than natural grace. Mostly I admire Queen Rania for her dedication to women's advancement around the world. Her personal devotion to the human population's well-being only adds to her beauty. This is one of innumerable examples of Queen Rania's elegant, yet remarkably un-boring, style.

Past Meet Present
Looking through picutures from the recent shows I was struck by a feeling of nostalgia. Curious I began to look through other shows from other seasons and found a remarkable trend.....the past is now the present. At Dior's Haute Couture show for Spring 2010 one dress stood out to me. The final dress of the show bore a remarkable resemblance to another Dior dress from decades ago. My final thought is at this point how much of fashion is really "new" and how much is just the past revisiting the present?

At the Model Call
Kelsey coming out of the Model Call.......I love how her backpack from London matches her beautiful hair and the buckles on her coat. This fashionista pays attention to detail, and has a style that is highly practical for this campus.
